This album is a rare gem, being one of the few occasions when Joe Henderson recorded as a sideman during this period in his career. Rosnes had already toured as a member of his quartet for several years when this, her second recording for Blue Note, was made. From the first strains of “Summer Night” through the final Rosnes ballad “Homeward,” the musicians communicate with uncommon interplay and depth.
